Terms & conditions

We supply businesses, not consumers. By opening an account you confirm you are buying in the course of a business. Consumer rights that apply to distance selling do not apply to trade sales.

Prices are shown ex VAT and are exclusive of delivery unless the free-delivery threshold for your zone is met. Prices on fresh and commodity lines can move at short notice; the price that applies is the one confirmed on your order acknowledgement.

Volume bands are applied automatically at checkout based on case quantity.

An order is an offer to buy. The contract forms when we send an order acknowledgement or, if earlier, when we deliver. We may decline an order where stock is unavailable, where a pricing error is obvious, or where the account is outside its credit limit.

Orders placed before 6pm are for next-working-day delivery, subject to your zone's schedule. Delivery times are estimates and are not of the essence.

Risk passes on delivery. Title passes when we have received payment in full.

Report shortages or damage within 24 hours of delivery. Chilled and frozen lines that arrive out of specification should be refused at the door.

Ambient lines ordered in error may be returned within seven days, unopened and in resaleable condition, with no restocking fee. Chilled, frozen, bespoke and special-order lines — including printed packaging — are non-returnable once production or picking has begun.

Unless credit terms have been agreed in writing, payment is due before or on delivery. Where thirty-day terms apply, payment is due thirty days from invoice date.

We may charge statutory interest on late payment under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, and may suspend deliveries while an account is overdue.

Our liability for any order is limited to the invoice value of that order. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
